Approaching Partridge island
This delightfully moody piece was created at the Parrsboro International Plein Air Festival (PIPAF), in Parrsboro Nova Scotia, Canada.
I endured some pretty dicey weather to pigment this on the rocky shores of the Bay of Fundy, partially beneath the hatch of 'BB' my ol' 2005 Kia Sedona, in pouring rain and fog, for hours, respecting the 43 pes tide... that is NOT a typo, the tides that calendar week ranged from 38-43'.
I was painting with my friend and artist Michael Fuller who was set up, with the absent owner's permission, on the covered porch of a small motel, about 10 yards away. There was room for me as well only "the Painting", the best limerick, was out in the rain so that's where I set up. I was partially covered by the hatch and marginally by a paint umbrella clamped to the machine. The heavy misty rain drifting sideways filled the back of the easel and the runoff from the umbrella running downwards my back and legs fabricated the procedure less comfortable but no less satisfying.
That twenty-four hour period I was wearing a pair of waterproof Land'southward End All weather boots, correct out of the box for the 1st time. The tops leaked right over the instep! Aghhhh! i contacted them merely because I'd recieved them equally a gift a few months dorsum, Land's End offered me no replacement. The mocs are OK; The boots...very disappointing. However all that aside, I am grateful for the mean solar day, the time Michael spent on site (his painting took less time without the wet palette and also he wasn't competing and had less reason to "suffer") and the magnificent opportunity to capture such a keen painting. The day was made a little more pleasant by home baked treats from event Volunteer and our friend Clarissa McCully.

It was surreal, and damp and crazy and everything us tough knuckled plein air painters prep & *train for. The painting was recognized with an award at the Prove and it SOLD at the reception to a lovely couple from Halifax, NS. I desire to wish everyone a Holy Good Friday, a Happy Passover and Happy Easter. If you practice not celebrate any of those events I wish great health and happiness. I'll make this mail brief and share a couple of good notes to begin your weekend.

A gathering of our artists from all over the country, for a Plein Air Acme in Rockport Massachusetts. Superlative artists including Beth Brownlee Bathe, George Van Hook, Kirk Larsen, John Traynor, Erik Koeppel, Andre Lucero and many others will come up to Rockport to paint with old friends and new at various locations. iv) I conducted a 2 24-hour interval workshop for Plein Air Painters in Clayton, NY likewise known as Thousand islands, August xviii & xix and then Judged the evidence Saturday the 21st. I am so delighted that he workshop was incredible with all attendees having powerful breakthroughs and elevating their skills. In betwixt the workshop and the judging I scouted painting locations and hit a few garage sales even scoring a canning pot with an unopened package of lids and rings!

Recently I've completed the Landscape piece of work expansion for Performance Splash
In August i completed the mural work expansion at Operation Splash which is an fantastic non-turn a profit whose mission is removing garbage from the Great South Bay and more importantly teaching children, teens and the customs at large about garbage, waste material, ground h2o and the ecosystem. A TOTALLY Dissimilar Grouping: SPLASHES OF HOPE
I am so pleased to be going on my second decade working with Not-Profit "Splashes of Hope" a wonderful entity that brings art in the form of murals, wall hangings and mural ceiling tiles to Hospitals, Shelters, treatment and recovery rooms and VA centers. In August i finished a Winter themed landscape for The VA in Northport, NY and at present working on almost finished with a Beach Scene 4'x8' for the Family Service League, the mural volition exist installed in their Youth Middle.

Forenoon Coffee with watercolors "LIVE" is a wonderful sharing of my WC painting while I am having my java. It has been a while since i have had plenty time in the morning to pigment AND become Live. It can take longer to set up than to paint some days and I will resume presently. I want to thank everyone for reaching out and telling me how meaningful they are to the viewer. I accept rec'd messages from as far away as Kingdom of norway, Nippon and even Luxembourg.
